Mid-Continent Instruments Makes the Connection with Thrane and Thrane Aeronautical Wi-Fi
February 18, 2010
WICHITA, Kan. — Mid-Continent Instruments introduces the MD41-1948, an Annunciation Control Unit (ACU) specifically designed for use with the Aero-SB Lite from Thrane & Thrane. The Aero-SB Lite is the lightest, most compact aeronautical broadband solution on the market.
The MD41-1948 displays connectivity status of the SwiftBroadband Unit (SBU) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) to the pilot. It is specified to be in the cockpit or in the cabin where it can be powered on or off from a console, eliminating the need to cycle breakers.
Engineered as an affordable alternative to installing several switches, the MD41-1948 offers installation flexibility with vertical or horizontal configurations. The ACU features automatic photocell dimming to enhance readability and has internally lighted SBU and WLAN push-buttons that provide firm tactile feedback to the pilot.
“We are excited to be working with Thrane & Thrane,” said Matt Fowle, Western Region Manager for Mid-Continent Instruments – West. “We believe the user-friendly design of our Annunciation Control Unit will benefit their product and we look forward to providing them with exceptional support.”
The MD41-1948 is available for purchase through any FAA-approved avionics dealer. For more information, contact Matt Fowle, Western Region Manager for Mid-Continent Instruments – West, at 818-786-0300.
